Country guides for callers in the US: codes, number formats and rates
These guides cover one corridor each: Mexico, India, the Philippines and the UK from the US, plus the reverse question of reaching US numbers for free from abroad. The four corridor guides open with the dialing format. Mexico, for example, is 011, then 52, then the 10-digit number, for landlines and mobiles alike [1]. Then come the per-minute prices I read on rate cards, split into landline and mobile where the card does. On , a minute to India started at $0.0239 on Yolla [2] and cost $0.02 on Google Voice [3], whose personal plans are sold only in the US [4]. Each guide also says when a free app call is enough: WhatsApp calls cost nothing, even to another country, when both people use it [5].
